Les 6e étudient présentement l’espace en Sciences… Ils discutent souvent des aventures entamées par l’astronaute Chris Hadfield, tout en étudiant des informations importantes au sujet des planètes, des étoiles, des astéroïdes, etc.

Au cours des prochaines semaines, et grâce aux idées géniales de M St. Amour, les élèves tenteront de recréer le système solaire dans les corridors de Mazo, en tenant compte de la distance entre chaque corps céleste!

Dans le but de mieux préparer les élèves, et afin de réviser la matière, les classes sont venues à la bibliothèque explorer l’Application « Solar Walk » (2,99$). Cette dernière permet aux jeunes d’explorer le système solaire et la voie lactée de façon trois-dimensionnelle! Elle compte des informations à jour, dont les trajectoires des planètes, leurs structures internes, les points d’intérêts et l’histoire de l’exploration en général. Les modèles sont 3D, conséquemment, les élèves peuvent les manipuler. Ils peuvent explorer toute la galaxie, et ils peuvent tout regarder de près!

The Grade 6s are currently studying Space in Science… They can often be heard discussing Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield’s incredible space adventures, as they learn important information regarding the planets, stars, asteroids, and other celestial bodies that make up our solar system.

In the coming weeks, and thanks in part to M St. Amour’s ingenious and creative ideas, the students will attempt to recreate the solar system inside Mazo’s hallways. They will even take into consideration the distance between each celestial body!

In the hopes of better preparing the students, while providing excellent unit review, the classes came to the library to explore the “Solar Walk” App ($2.99).  This incredible App allows students to manipulate an interactive, three-dimensional model of the Solar system and the Milky Way galaxy! It is a time-sensitive, accurate, and information-packed application.

Students enjoyed navigating through space and time, seeing all the planets in close-up, learning their trajectories, inner structures, history of their exploration, points of interest and more. They were also able to get a more realistic experience by zooming out to view and spin the entire Galaxy!
