Les huitièmes années sont venues à la bibliothèque en compagnie de Mme Joiner dans le but d’enrichir leurs études poétiques. Ils sont en cours de préparer une petite collection de poèmes, dont certaines sont recherchées, tandis que d’autres soient créés/écrites par les élèves.

Suivant une recherche de la collection à la bibliothèque, Mme Madeley a présenté l’application « iF Poems » (http://ifpoems.com/). Cette collection présente au-delà de 270 poèmes de façon interactive. De plus, bon nombre de personnalités, de grande renommée, sont enregistrées (Helena Bonham Carter, Bill Nighy, Harry Enfield, Tom Hiddleston), fournissant de bels exemples écrits et oraux aux élèves.

Malgré un prix assez « dispendieux » pour une application, il est à noter que 10% des ventes soutiennent et subventionnent le travail incroyable de la fondation « Save the Children ».

Plusieurs élèves se sont inspirés de l’heure de la Terre tout en écrivant des poèmes. Ces écrits sont partagés ci-dessous…

The Grade 8s came to the library with poetry on the brain… In English, with Mme Joiner, they have been reading and writing poems. They are in the midst of preparing a collection of various poems, both researched and written.

Following a quick search of the library collection, Mme Madeley presented the “iF Poems” App (http://ifpoems.com/). The application is a collection of over 270 of the best loved poems in the form of an interactive anthology. Furthermore, it features readings by some well-known artists, such as Helena Bonham Carter, Bill Nighy, Harry Enfield and Tom Hiddleston. Such recordings provide great oral and written examples for the students.

Despite its “expensive” price, the App is well worth it, and 10% of its sales goes to help the work of “Save the Children”.
