Les huitièmes sont retournés à la bibliothèque afin de continuer leur exploration de l’application Garage Band, et ce en compagnie de Mme Leblanc. Suivant quelques conseils, ils ont mieux compris la raison pour laquelle ils pratiquent tant : ils se préparent pour leur tâche finale en musique!

Au cours des prochains mois, les élèves créeront une parodie musicale. Après avoir écouté quelques exemples, tel que « I’m farming and I grow it! », les élèves se sont bien excités.

Cette semaine, les élèves ont continué leur tâtonnement, mais en ajoutant un élément : la version karaoké d’une chanson populaire! Les élèves pouvaient choisir soit « California Girls » ou bien « Forget You ». La chanson téléchargée, les aventures se sont débutées. Les élèves se sont bien amusés en enregistrant leur voix, en insérant d’autres instruments et en explorant bon nombre de pistes créatives! Le degré d’engagement était incroyable! Ils commencent déjà à réfléchir aux possibilités. Il y a certains groupes qui ont énuméré des chansons possibles. Ils savent maintenant qu’il va falloir modifier les paroles et créer un vidéo-clip qui l’accompagnera!

This week, Mme Leblanc brought the Grade eights back to the library to continue their exploration of the Garage Band App on the iPads. They also gained a better understanding of the reason behind such intense practice: they are preparing themselves for an incredible final summative task in Music!

Over the next few months, the students will be responsible for creating a Music Parody. They were presented a few examples, like “I’m farming and I grow it!”, this week to get their creative juices flowing. Needless to say, they are VERY excited.

This week, the students continued to tinker with the App; however, there was another major element added: a karaoke version of a popular song! The students had the choice between “California Girls” or “Forget You”. Once the song was uploaded, the real adventures began. The students had a great time recording their voices over the track, inserting other instruments/rhythms, and exploring even more creative avenues! The level of engagement was incredible! They are already thinking of all the possibilities. Some groups have even started listing possible songs to be tweaked. They now know that they will need to modify the lyrics and create a music video featuring their version of the song.
